Protecting the People: Records Management and Citizens’ Rights in Ghana (1996)
This film explores the consequences on government operations and individuals’ lives when records are not managed. It focuses on medical records, pension records, land claim records, electoral records and legal records. It describes how the Ghana Government has addressed these issues as part of its Civil Service Reform Programme. This film was produced as a component of the Management of Public Sector Records Study Programme with funding from the UK Department for International Development.

Walking on Files: New Solutions from Tanzania for Managing Payroll and Personnel Information (2000)
As governments around the world make the transition from a paper-based to an electronic working environment, there are a host of new issues to be addressed. In this film, Tanzanian Government officials explore some of the issues involved in moving from a manual system for managing personnel information to a computerised integrated human resource and payroll system. The challenge is to maintain control of the records required to support rights, entitlements and obligations while maximising the benefits of computerisation. This film was produced for the World Bank Information Solutions Group.

By raising key issues about governance, accountability and transparency in an electronic environment, this documentary explores the relationship between the Malaysia Government’s vision of harnessing information technology to improve and empower the lives of citizens and the parallel requirement to access and manage evidence in the electronic age. By raising key issues about governance, accountability and transparency in an electronic environment across the globe, the video illustrates the common issues,challenges and solutions governments face today. Key stakeholders from around the globe speak on the importance of integrating record-keeping as a major component of good governance among senior public officials in developing countries and emphasise the significance of records as evidence, in both electronic and paper environments. This film was produced with funding from the Development Grant Facility, World Bank.
